Abstract

Nipple discharge is a common presentation with multiple causes including physiological, systemic and breast related causes. Investigations and management depend on the underlying cause.  Detailed history & examination is often very helpful and investigations can confirm the clinical suspicion.  This review is mainly focused on extra-mammary or systemic causes of breast discharge. Systemic causes are mainly investigated by medical team but many cases will need surgical input to fix the cause such as prolactinoma.
